Getting Paid to Write Reviews Online

Being fresh out of college as a freelance writer and website designer in the mid 1990's I was fortunate enough to be in the right position to capitalize on the recent explosion in internet freelance writing. From my early dot.com days of writing, I can tell you many websites were in desparate need of online product reviewers. Trouble is, at the time few people had heard of the internet nor was anyone interested in wasting their time writing reviews for products pro bono. Today, however, the internet has evolved into a much more accomodating setting for reviewers, writers, surveyers and just about anyone interested in generating income. So if you are interested in making money I suggest you check out the following websites:

1) epinions.com

Epinions.com is a review site that works through a method called "consumerism journalism". Basically, the pay you receive from writing a review is determined by the number of times your review is read. So the more often you write, the more you get paid.

2) sponsoredreviews.com

Sponsoredreviews breaks from the traditional mold of review sites in that advertisiers directly pay you to write reviews of their products. How much you command per review is determined by your prior writings (blogs, reviews, etc.). This site is by far my favorite to write for since my earnings are not determined on a pageview basis - I write about products that I enjoy and earn a fixed amount upfront, from the advertisier.

Remember, the most important way to get your foot in the door and establish yourself as a good writer or reviewer is to continue working at it and, above all else, keep writing.
